Everyone must be dreaming of perfect skin but there’s no such thing as that. Having perfect skin might not be realistic but it’s possible to achieve the best version of your skin. Here are some dos and don’ts that can help you achieve your dream skin:
Do use sunscreen. Sun exposure increases the risk of skin cancer. On top of that, it is also one of the main causes why our skin is aging faster than usual. Before you head out, or even if you won’t — because it can still penetrate in the clouds and your house windows, don’t forget to apply sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher daily to keep your skin protected and re-apply at least every 2 hours.
Don’t forget to moisturize. Moisturizing might not feel necessary to everyone, especially to those with oily skin. But did you know that moisturizers give several benefits to our skin? It does not only make you feel great but also reduces the appearance of blemishes, and helps make your skin look young by boosting self repair. So even if you have oily skin, make sure to moisturize (choose lightweight moisturizers) so your glands do not have to work hard to keep your skin healthy.

Do give your body some love. Skincare shouldn’t be limited to your face but also to your body. If you’re applying sunscreen to your face, don’t forget to put some on your body too as it is also exposed to the harmful UV of the sun. There are several products that are intended for the body so if you have a skincare routine for the face, you should also have a body care routine.
Don’t over exfoliate. This applies to both the face and the body. It is necessary to exfoliate at least two to three times a week but not greater than that. Over exfoliation can aggravate your skin and damage your skin barrier which may lead to redness, irritation and may leave your skin in a much worse condition.

Do invest in antioxidants. Antioxidants help protect your skin from damage caused by free radicals. They are often found in skincare products which offer anti-aging benefits but can also be found in foods. Antioxidants do not just protect your skin but repair it at the same time.

Don’t forget to remove makeup before bed. Sleeping with your makeup on mixes all the dirt and oil that accumulated all throughout the day which leads to clogged pores and breakouts. Make sure to remove your makeup before going to bed so that your skin can “breathe” and recuperate overnight for a fresher appearance the next day.
Do get enough sleep. It is advised to get at least eight hours of sleep at night so your skin can heal itself while you snooze. Beauty rest is real so go get enough sleep and you’ll wake up looking fresh and glowing!
Getting beautiful skin is not instant. Look for the right products that will suit your skin and be consistent. Enjoy your skincare time and treat it as your little “me time” daily. Maintaining a daily routine is one step to achieving a healthy and glowing skin. These aren't just a trick but also a treat for your skin!
