The past summer is definitely one for the books! But escaping the sun wasn't easy whether you were on a beach trip with your family and friends, or roaming around foreign cities with your special someone. While the sun-kissed skin was all the rave this past season, we are now facing a post-summer dilemma—sunburn.
Treating sunburnt skin isn't that much complicated. Here are some things you can try in order to breathe new life to your summer skin.
Cold compress
This is one of the easiest and most relieving ways to treat sunburn. Just apply a cold towel over the affected area for 10-15 minutes a couple of times daily until it heals. Cold showers are also recommended as this also help alleviate the heat from your skin.
Drink up!
The key to dealing with dried out skin is to hydrate. We don't just mean putting on a ton of moisturizers. You can boost up your healing process by drinking lots of water. Remember, a properly hydrated body results in bright, glowing skin.
Do not touch that blister!
If you're experiencing an extreme sunburn, chances are there will be a few blisters that will pop up. It's may feel uncomfortable, but leaving that pesky blister alone will do you good. It's best to allow it to heal by itself to avoid possible infection.
Aloe vera: the natural sunburn remedy
Aloe Vera works wonders in helping your skin heal. Apply aloe vera gel on your damaged skin to help bring back its moisture. You can also use this as part of your long term skin regimen to make sure your skin stays smooth and supple.
To help your skin heal faster, try our Aloe Herb Face Wash! It's formulated with the right pH balance that is gentle to the skin as it repairs it back to tip-top shape. This cream cleanser blend gets rid of impurities in your skin without making it feel dry. You can purchase it by itself, or you can buy it as part of our Hydration Care Set.
