Taking Care of the Teen Skin

Puberty hits during the teenage years and our body undergoes a lot of changes. They said there’s really no right age to start a skincare routine but we at Wildleaf believe that the earlier you start taking care of your skin, the better. We have collated some tips to help you take care of your skin including a basic skincare routine that wouldn’t backfire and make your skin worse.

Don’t sleep with your makeup on. During busy or lazy days, taking off your makeup is considered extra work. Keep in mind that our skin accumulates a lot of dirt daily. Accumulated dirt and makeup are the culprits for clogged pores leading to acne breakouts. So as much as possible, don’t forget to take off your makeup and wash your face before going to bed.

Get the correct skincare products. Knowing your skin type is the foundation of starting a skincare routine because it helps you choose the correct skincare products and ingredients that would suit your skin best. Using products that are not suitable for your skin type may not produce good results or worse, could aggravate your skin. Make sure that you know your skin type before investing in skincare products.

Spot treat acne before it gets worse.  During teenage years, getting acne here and there is very common so it’s always good to come prepared during this season. Getting a good product for spot treatment could help fight the growth of bacteria and reduce inflammation so there’s a lesser chance to get acne scars in the future.

Keep your hands and your phone clean. Our hand touches almost everything including dirty surfaces that can harbor bacteria. Make sure to wash your hands before touching your face and clean your mobile phone using alcohol wipes regularly.

Wear sunscreen. Sunscreen is the best anti-aging product that most people tend to forget to add to their routine. It helps protect the skin from the harmful UV rays that can make your skin age faster and could also help make your skin smooth and bright by limiting your acne breakouts to turn into dark spots once healed.

Exfoliate. Dead skin cells block pores resulting in blackheads and bacteria build up that causes breakouts. Gentle exfoliation helps remove dead skin cells to help keep your skin smooth and breakout-free.

A teen skincare routine should be fuss-free just like how teens should be enjoying this season of their life. Follow these skin care tips and try Wildleaf’s Anti Acne Care Set to help stop acne-causing bacteria and prevent new breakouts from forming.
